For 2013, our Access Control installers treated us to an interactive Christmas window display. The coloured lights were connected to CheerLights, a worldwide synchronised colour selection system linked with Twitter. The smaller decorations were controlled via interactive switches below allowing visitors to operate our decorations live from anywhere in the world. The webcam was active between 1700 and 0830 hours (GTM) allowing visitors to see their interactions in realtime.
The The project attracted huge attention far and wide with over 5,000 hits, and 11,362 control clicks to operate the lights. Our IT team exported the hit locations into the below map to show the the sharing patterns around the world. We have been overwhelmed with comments of support, and we’re keen to create something bigger and better for 2014 with added support for our chosen charity of the year.
[Sorry, the webcam is no longer online. We might bring it back another year]
