Can I have a remote fob attached to my keys?
Yes, a small battery powered device can be attached to your keys, allowing you to arm and disarm the alarm from anywhere in your home.
How long will my alarm wait for me to enter my code?
This is usually set to 30 seconds, but it can be adjusted to a longer time if you’re particularly worried.
Can I have the master code?
The simple answer is no. The longer answer is this: When we certify an alarm system, we are confirming that everything on that alarm system complies with the regulations, used by insurance companies to confirm an alarm system is fit for purpose. If a user was to alter a setting, even accidentally, it could have a profound impact on the alarms ability to function properly when it’s needed.
Will my alarm still operates if a burglar cut the power?
Yes, there are a few backup battery mechanisms across the intruder alarm system to ensure it operates even when there is no power.
Why do neighbours alarm boxes go off when there is a power cut?
This is a strong indicator that the alarm systems haven’t been serviced, and would probably not function properly under an alarm condition.
Can I use an app for setting and un-setting my burglar alarm?
Yes, we have easy to use apps for smart phone users.
Does my outside alarm box need replacing?
If it’s starting to look dated and weathered, then you should definitely replace it. A modern looking box suggests the system is up to date, services and the home owner takes the security of their property seriously.
Everyone keeps telling me alarms don’t stop a burglar, is this true?
False, an alarm is a major deterrent for any burglar. The bell box is the one things they can see from a distance, and in most cases it’s enough to deter them looking any further.
Can the phone line be cut, preventing the alarm calling us?
99% of our alarm systems either have two methods of reporting, or operate on a separate signalling network to notify the monitoring station that there is an alarm event. They even monitor those signal paths to ensure they remain consistent.
Once an alarm system is installed, can it be added to at a later date?
Most of the systems we install are capable of being extended, and upgraded at any time.
